I hope you are doing well! I just wanted you to know about some recent changes. I am feeling better, and at times I feel normal! My pain levels are reduced, my normal meds work better, and I almost feel as though my body is improving! It seems almost miraculous!!! I have been on a downward spiral physically and mentally for the last 3 years, but now I feel like I have gained a little back. This is such a huge deal and I honestly cannot express my gratitude enough. You have always treated me with such kindness and respect, as well as my wife. We are so grateful for how we are treated because I am treated so differently at other physicians' offices. Thank you sir! I have had so much bad news and contacted you needing help that I just wanted to spread the good news! We love you man. Have a great day and don’t work too hard!

Before I met Dr. B, I was on five drugs just for controlling my mental illness. Today... ZERO!! I am trying to let everyone know that Dr. B has helped me become a fully functioning man again. A recent news program talked about the suicide rate being up by some 30 percent. Among veterans the rate is about twice the national average. Dr. B can help those teetering on the brink of suicide. Suicide may be much closer to you than you imagine. Dr. B can also help those suffering with neuropathic pain like I was. One thing that I have learned is that mental pain makes physical pain worse and physical pain makes mental pain worse. Think about this...who do you know that is suffering? The solution to their suffering might just be a phone call away. Spread the word, please. Help is available.

I am a 56 year old women with a successful career. I suffered with treatment resistant depression. I was diagnosed with TRD in 2000. I was diagnosed with depression at age 25. I tried every antidepressant that pharmacology had available. They would work for a while and then stop. The best pharmacologist in Charleston told me ketamine would be my only hope. But it was not available. I self medicated with opiates after surgery, because they relieved my depression, and pain for the first time in my life. The surgeon assured me that OxyContin was not addictive. That began the merry-go-round with doctors, and psychiatrist, and therapists. They did their best to help me. When I met Dr. Richard Bowen it was a gift from God. His staff is impeccable, kind and loving. If it were not for this meeting by Gods Grace, I would not be alive today. I was on the verge of insanity, and suicide, because of my lifelong battle with alcoholism, drug addiction, trauma and mental illness. Most importantly mental illness! If you or a loved one is in need you have found your home. I am on the road to being happy, joyous, and free. This is a modern day scientific miracle. Ketamine is a miracle in my opinion, sent from God to help the suffering. My prayers are with you and your family.

I have multiple sclerosis, depression and chronic pain. I have been depressed since I was a kid and this is the first thing that has worked on my depression I was virtually catatonic when I had my first treatment and then I was fixed. Miracle. Ask my Family. Ketamine is a literal miracle drug. Doctor Bowen is a Godsend and will do anything he can to help his patients. This is the future of medicine.

I have been seeing Dr Bowen since October of 2017. His kindness and caring nature have been instrumental in changing my life in miraculous ways. He’s the only doctor I know that still operates with old time altruism. His compassion for those of us suffering from untreatable depression is tantamount to my personal recovery and to others. Without ketamine infusions I would still be in a chronic state of depression which has literally caused me to lose the majority of my life. Before my treatments, I couldn’t get out of bed, I couldn’t feel joy or sadness, I couldn’t feel. I was unable to have healthy interpersonal relationships. My decisions were based on impulse and fear. I have been depression free for 8 months now. I have not used sleep for escape once, I no longer isolate, I can make solid, well thought out decisions, I can handle stress without shutting down. My life has changed exponentially. The changes are nothing short of a miracle. Ketamine and Doctor Bowen gave me back my life, and for this, I am eternally grateful.

Dr Bowen has helped me so much! He is a very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable about my pain (CRPS). He takes the time to really listen to me and to explain how my treatment will effect me. Anytime I have had to contact him he responds in a timely manner and works with me to help the problem or get me in to see him. His staff is awesome and helpful. They really show you true southern hospitality. I could not ask for better care!! If you are struggling with whether to contact Dr Bowen for care just do it you won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Bowen and his staff are the best. Coming here has changed my life for the better in so many ways! Not only has this helped my depression TREMENDOUSLY, but Dr. Bowen has also helped me get off of benzodiazepines without hospitalization. This place is amazing and worth every penny if you are someone who is medication resistant and looking for a miracle. After a while the staff really becomes like family too. Sometimes just being here is enough to cheer me up because everyone makes me laugh so hard :). I highly, highly recommend this place!

I live in Charlotte but chose to drive to Charleston for treatments. I checked Charlotte, and Durham etc and found Dr. Bowen - the only one to care and even call me directly to see if I could possibly benefit. Do not trust a "chain" - invest in a lifesaving treatment with personal attention.
